Dear Saints,
By now you’ve no doubt seen many advertisements for our annual Golf Classic and Parish Dinner on May 19th. Today I’d like to issue my own invitation to each and every one of you. Whether you can join us for the whole day or just for the cocktail party and dinner, it would be great to celebrate with you.
To be sure, this event is a fundraiser for the school. OLMC and LGA are flourishing and currently serve a very diverse student body from eight different counties. It’s good and right that we as a community band together to provide scholarship assistance and remove financial barriers so that families across the socioeconomic spectrum have an equal opportunity to provide their children an excellent Catholic education.
But the Golf Classic is so much more than a fundraiser. It’s shared recreation with truly good and kind people; it’s old friendships rekindled and new friendships begun; it’s the blessing of delicious food in a fun and peaceful setting on the cusp of summer; and maybe it’s even a really good round of golf!
It’s fitting that such a light-hearted occasion would fall in the midst of our Alleluia season. St. Vincent Ferrer once said that Easter fed us, freed us, assured us of the truth, and promised us that we have been endowed with the gifts of clarity, agility, brightness, and impassibility. Talk about something worth celebrating! Your presence and participation will make the festivities that much sweeter, and I’d love to spend the time with you. Visit www.olmc.academy/golf to register today!
In the peace of the risen Christ,
Father Daniel
