Dear Saints,
One of the most amazing things about our school gala this past week was the sheer number of volunteers who jumped in to make it successful. On the other hand, that’s just par for the course around here. Our Annual Report captures it well: in every season and through a myriad of ways, OLMC parishioners are extraordinarily generous with their time, talent, and treasure.
In other words, you are truly Sermon on the Mount people. Charity is not a mere abstract ideal at Our Lady of Mount Carmel; rather, it is a lived reality, made manifest in your countless acts of service.
Though it’s not always obvious, we make a profound difference in people’s lives, and that’s because of you. Your partnership allows us to be that shining city on a hill God had in mind when he brought us all here. That’s why, during this week of giving thanks for our many blessings, you will be at the top of my list. St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier once said that “gratitude is the memory of the heart.” I am blessed beyond measure to say that you and your profound generosity are my heart’s memory.
Christ’s Peace,
Father Daniel
