Dear Saints,

Welcome to Catholic Schools Week 2026! CSW is an unusual celebration, in that anyone affiliated with a Catholic school generally takes it as a given, while anyone with no experience of Catholic school generally has no idea it even exists. So how would someone from the first camp explain it to someone from the second?

Perhaps by starting with that great insight from Pope John Paul II: youth is the time to seek the answers to basic questions; to search not only for the meaning of life, but also for a concrete way to go about living one’s life.

We honor our school as a place where every human mind can begin that search; where every human heart can begin to find what it longs for; and where every human soul can begin the journey towards the end for which it was created. Thanks to a latticework of partnerships and the excellent efforts of countless laborers, the soil of OLMC and LGA is abundantly fertile: a place where roots grow deep and children’s lives start to blossom into the dreams God has for each and every one of them. Surely that’s worth a week of celebration.
