Dear Saints,
As we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, we are reminded of the countless men and women who have lived with courage, conviction, and a willingness to pour themselves out in love, all the way to the end. Their faithful friendship with God invites each of us to reflect upon our own lives. Who are we meant to be right now? Who are we meant to become? And what legacy are we meant to leave? When the men and women of tomorrow grapple with what it means to live lives of faith, hope, and charity, will we be among those to whom they look for guidance?
To help us answer these questions and more, I am pleased to invite you to a very special evening this Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30pm in the OLMC Gym, featuring Major Tony Lupo of the United States Military Academy. Major Lupo will speak to us about What’s Worth Sacrificing For.
Drawing on his military experience and expertise in philosophy, Major Lupo will offer an engaging perspective on the formation of character, the demands of leadership, and the lifelong importance of knowing what’s worth committing ourselves to. These are questions that speak directly to our own journeys as saints, our collective mission as a parish, and the responsibility we all share in forming the next generation for lives of meaning and enduring purpose.
I hope you will join us for what promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking evening. Please consider inviting friends and family to attend as well (veterans are especially welcome, as we’d like to take the opportunity to recognize them and their service to our nation). And may the example of the saints encourage us to live lives always marked by courage, generosity, and fidelity to what - and who - matters most.
Christ’s Peace,
Father Daniel
